EXPLORER 3 , PERFECT FLIGHT EXPLORER 3 MAKES TEXTBOOK FLIGHT TO COMPLETE PROJECT EXPLORER

Explorer 3 was the last of the explorer flights , which was planned since September of 1999 , when the final plans to build Explorer were go. The Explorer rocket was designed for only 3 flights to be made and the last flight proved to be the most successful BAVRA flight ever made. Explorer 3 was launched at 7:05 PM on the 4th of March 2000 , after reaching an approximate apogee of some 300 meters after 7 seconds the parachute was ejected from the rocket and the decent lasted over 2 minutes landing some 280 meters downrange from the launch pad. The Explorer rocket has been put away in the rocket gallery and will never fly again, but now the final plans for Gemini the next project has passed approval and will be constructed shortly. Gemini has only half the height of Explorer and has the same type of engine but Gemini has two engines , designed to be BAVRA's first multi-stage rocket it will make an apogee under simulated conditions of some 750 meters.
